Man Killed in 4-Vehicle Chain-Reaction Crash in New Jersey
Busy roads mean lots of vehicles and this can lead to serious or even fatal car accidents. A recent crash in New Jersey involved four vehicles. The impact of what has been described as a “chaotic car crash” killed one person and injured another.
The fatal accident occurred on the morning of May 26 on the New Jersey Turnpike in Bayonne City in Hudson County. Police were alerted to a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike’s Hudson Bay Extension east at milepost 2.8. A Freightliner tractor-trailer rear-ended an Acura SUV driven by a 64-year-old man from Morris County.
The collision set off a chain of events. The Acura collided with a Jeep before veering into a concrete barrier. The Jeep then rear-ended a Toyota pickup truck.
The driver of the Acura SUV was killed in the crash. His passenger suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
No other injuries were reported. The crash is still under investigation by the New Jersey State Police. No criminal charges have been announced yet.
